Ballet

Our ballet programs are introduced as an approachable and healthy style of dance. In the studio, they learn basic classical ballet steps and terminology, while building a strong ballet foundation through imagination and movement.

Ballet 2             Saturdays: 10am – 11am

Hip Hop

Beats and breaks are a great way to build a sense of rhythm and personal expression. This is a fast paced series made for energetic kids seeking to learn street-style dancing. Students experience hip hop as an opportunity for creative expression and fun. As the program progresses students take part in a funky 3-part combination of warm up, technique and choreography, using fast paced memory skills with great cardio.

Jazz

In Jazz class, we integrate some of the major influences behind the history of jazz from Broadway musicals to more contemporary works. Dancers are encouraged to test their strength and timing in jazz class with memory games and fun choreography. As Jazz progresses dancers focus on body conditioning to build stamina and strength.

Jazz 2             Thursdays: 5pm – 6pm

September 12th, 2019 — June 4th, 2020

 

Modern

In the studio, basic steps are taught and experienced as expressive and fun while building a strong dance foundation. Students explore different modern dance techniques, like Graham and Limon. This class will appeal to a child who enjoys drama and a desire to express emotion in their movements.

Modern 2             Tuesdays: 4pm – 5pm

Musical Theatre

Musical theatre is for a triple threat. Focusing on developing stage performance, improve skills, and explore different choreographers and influential performing artists in the musical theatre world, such as Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins and Lin-Manuel Miranda. We highly recommend bundling our Vocal class with Musical Theatre to build a well-rounded musical vocabulary.

Tap

Tap is introduced as a fun and rhythmic style of dance and are taught how to tap out a rhythm using their foot, heel or toe with a variety of music to explore. As Tap progresses we build on tap fundamentals with a focus on movement and control. Dancers explore complicated syncopated footwork while learning how to control upper from lower body movements and develop coordination and speed.
